January Events 2015

Dear PS 41 Families,

Here’s the upcoming PS 41 events for the rest of January:

Jan 22: Make-a-Wish Foundation Bake sale: During lunch on Thursday, the Community Crusaders will be holding a bake sale. Baked goods will be sold at $1.00-2.00 and Mrs. Nemis’ CIA will be selling rainbow loom bracelets. All money will be donated to the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

Jan 23: Family Fun Fest is this Friday, during school hours and afterwards from 6:00-8:30 PM. For one day, our school gym is transformed into a festival, packed with fun games, activities and concession stands, and don’t forget those nifty prizes. Preorder your tickets by returning the flyer sent home this week or purchase them directly at the Family Fun Fest. Download the ticket order form/flyer

Volunteers are still needed to help with the Family Fun Fest, both during school hours (8:15-2:00 PM) and evening hours (6:00-8:30 PM). Any hours are appreciated, please contact Irulan Budabin (310) 490-2548 or Mary Bow (347) 563-4368.

Also on Jan 23: Winter Blood Drive from 3:30-8:00 PM (during Family Fun Fest). Heroes wanted! One pint of blood can help save the lives of up to three people. Please consider donating blood at the PS 41 Blood Drive, our goal is 40 pints—help us achieve that. Walk-ins are welcome!

Jan 30: Change Your Name Day: How’s it feel to be named Elsa? Olaf? Here’s the chance to change your name, just for the day (then let it go)!

Best regards,

Parent and Child Art Workshops 2015

Dear PS 41 Families,

Happy New Year’s to all, welcome back!

Run away with the Circus this Wednesday! A quick reminder that the Circus Arts workshop, the first of five free evening art workshops, is this Wednesday, January 7th from 7:00-9:00 PM. We still have a few spaces available, please email Mary Bow: mbow@schools.nyc.gov ASAP if you’re interested. You will be enrolled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The Circus Arts workshop is for children and parents to participate together, along with artists from Marquis Studios. This workshop will use themes from the circus to promote a variety of school objectives, helping to make learning both fun and entertaining. Nothing greater than clowning around with a purpose! Once again, space is limited; please contact Mary Bow right away. (See attached flyer for more information about the Circus Arts workshop.)

For the other workshops, please return the tear-off flyer that was sent home recently in backpacks.
