March Events at P.S. 41

Dear PS 41 Families,

We’re in that long stretch between winter break and spring break and we have a lot of activities in the school.

March 2 and 3Scholastic Book Fair. Let’s encourage a love of reading by browsing the many fun, exciting, educational books available at the Book Fair! You can join your child’s class when they’re scheduled to go or you can send a little cash in an envelope so your little one can browse and make his or her own selections.

March 3Parent-Teacher Conferences. Don’t forget that this is a half-day and that students will be dismissed at 11:30 am! This is a great day to support your child and the school – meet your child’s teacher, then get a cupcake (or two) from the Bake Sale, then browse and shop at the Book Fair!

March 8Puppetry: Parent and Child Art Workshop. You’ll make puppets together! You’ll make them sing and laugh and play! The fun, for those who registered for the event, starts at 7:00 pm.

March 10 and 11Science Fair. Our Science Fair is always a big and exciting affair with displays ranging from animals and their habitats to the mechanisms of simple machines to the importance of good nutrition. Check it out and marvel at the dedicated work our budding scientists, with the guidance of Ms. Pierides, are doing! On March 10, the Science Fair will be open for parents in the evening from 6:30 to 8:30. On March 11, it’s open for the students during school hours.

March 16SLT Meeting. At 7:10 am, the School Leadership Team will hold a meeting with the Principal, Mr. Ferrara. The meeting is open to any parent who wishes to listen in on a discussion about academic and curricular issues.

March 17Spring Picture Day and PTA Meeting. It’s spring and it’s another great opportunity for a picture! It’s also time for a discussion of school news and issues at the PTA Meeting at 7:00 pm.

March 18Career Day. Share insights and lessons about your career with the kids! It’s on this date and children enjoy learning about the many things they can be when they grow up! It’s also “Dress Your Best” Spirit Day sponsored by the Student Council.

March 25No school today.

Finally, please be advised that International Night this year will be held on April 15. It’s a fun, delicious event and raises funds for our school, so don’t forget to mark it on your calendar!
